Dear Richard,

thank you for contacting us.

It does fit the Leica Fortis 6 scope but only if you have the BDC turrets.

I have a tikka t3. Cal. 308win with 45cm pipe. How do I know which ring to use on the bdc turret? I'm going to buy either a swarovski z6i with ballistic tower or a leica magnus with bdc. Which of these binoculars do dockers recommend? Which of these binoculars has the most precise turret?

by Nils

Dear Nils,

thank you for contacting us.

We would recommend either Leica Magnus or Swarovski Z6i as you suggest as these are fantastic riflescopes for hunting. Please note that concerning the BDC dial set from Leica, you need to read the manual carefully to determine which ring fits your caliber and ballistic coefficient as best and closely as possible.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly at info@optics-trade.eu. We are here to help.

whose tower is the easiest and fastest to adjust when hunting? Does the leica magnus bdc have such a tower that you have to count over the click itself or does it have numbers that show the distance?

by nils

i mean between the swarovski z6i and leica magnus towers

by nils

Dear Nils,

please note that both riflescopes come with a true hunting BDC turret, which means that both have numbers on the turret that indicate the distance to your bullseye.

The setting of either of these turrets is simple and straightforward, however, if you require any specific information on the operation of these turrets, please contact us directly at info@optics-trade.eu

Hello, I have a Leica fortis 6 in 2-12 x50i. Currently I do not have any BDC turret. I would like to instal a BDC turret and fit these rings. Do you know if I can change my non-BDC scope to a BDC scope? Kind Regards, Jonas

How do I choose the correct ring for my magnus

by Patrick

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

Each ring's dial represents a different bullet drop. You choose the ring with the dial that matches your bullet drop according to your ballistic calculations. You can find various ballistic calculators online.

Thank you for your understanding.

If you will need any additional information please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Kind regards

Hi, which Leica scopes can I use this set on?

by Lars

This set can be used on all the Leica Magnus and Fortis series riflescopes.

by Optics Trade team

Hello, I have these rings for my Fortis 6, 2-12x50. I am based in the US so I zero my scope at 100 Yards because thats how our shooting ranges are set up. When I use the Leica ballistic tool I input the data for metric and imperial. Both say to use ring 4 and the curves look the exact same. Does this mean I can use ring 4 and use my range finder in us/yards? Or do I need to range my distance in meters?

by Charles

That is correct. It means that the deviations are more or less minor which is why a ring 4 is suitable for both measurements. Even if you range the distance in meters the difference will not be visible by a large margin.

by Optics Trade team

Hi, i hope you're well. I'm looking at purchasing this set of rings but I have a few questions. My first question is will these rings work with the new leica amplus 6, 2.5 -15x50i ? Also how do I know which ring to use with my rifle? I have entered my rifle information and ammo properties into the calculator on the leica website but it doesn't tell me which ring to use. It gives me the trajectory etc. Also the app only list the Magnus and fortis and not the new amplus scopes.

by Gebrael

Unfortunately, these rings will not work on Amplus rifle scopes but only work on Magnus, Fortis 6, and older Visus and ERi rifle scopes. All these have the same BDC turret in common. Amplus has a different BDC turret that does not accomodate these rings.

The correct ring can be selected if you know the exact ballistic curve and then you choose the ring with the closest match to the ballistic curve. This is easier seen at the longest distance, which rings has the closest value.
