This is a bayonet-type mounting standard that consists of three notches. The adapter is mounted on the bayonet by inserting the adapter pins into the notches and turning the adapter clockwise. Hikmicro uses this standard on all its thermal clip-on devices. There are both one-piece and two-piece mounting solutions on the market, but two-piece ones are much more common. The usual combination is an adapter for the M52x0.75 mounting standard and a Hikmicro Thunder mounting standard converter. All the clip-ons that feature this mounting standard are front-mounted, meaning that they are mounted on the riflescope’s objective.
